What's it for?
Blender, Redshift, and Octane render on the graphics card, so its memory decides how big a scene you can build and how fast it finishes.
We aim for 12GB of graphics memory or more, add a processor with many cores for simulation, and size the memory for heavy scenes. Every part fits, and each one links to Amazon.
What the builder recommends today at a few budgets. Every part links to Amazon; customize a build to change the budget or swap parts.

12GB handles most scenes comfortably; 16GB to 24GB avoids out-of-memory failures on large, texture-heavy scenes and lets you render at higher resolutions.
NVIDIA cards have the broadest renderer support through CUDA and OptiX (Blender Cycles, Redshift, Octane, V-Ray). AMD cards work in Blender with HIP but are not supported by every renderer, so check your renderer before choosing.
Simulations, baking, and CPU-based renderers scale with cores. 12 to 16 cores is a strong target for a rendering workstation.
